Nepalese Demonstrators Slam Pakistan

Protesters gathered in significant numbers outside the embassy, waving Nepali flags and shouting anti-terrorism slogans. They sought responsibility from Pakistan for purportedly sponsoring and sheltering terrorist organizations operating over the border. Demonstrators carried signs reading sentiments like “Stop Pakistan-backed terrorism” and “We stand with India against terror.”

One demonstrator remarked, “The terror assault in Pahalgam strongly abhorrence the Nepalese people. Cross-border terrorism causing innocent lives to be lost is unacceptable. We are here to stand with the victims.

Citizens Demand Global Action Against Terrorism Claiming that Pakistan had been harbouring terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), whose operatives are thought to be behind the Pahalgam massacre, the demonstrators urged the global community to take harsher action.

A protestor remarked urging the world to blacklist countries supporting terrorism. He wanted Pakistan to suffer diplomatic repercussions for purportedly facilitating such attacks.

Demonstration Shows Increasing Regional Anger

The demonstration in Kathmandu shows how increasingly South Asians are growing angry and frustrated about cross-border terrorist operations. Although historically neutral in regional disputes, Nepal saw rare public mobilization on this topic, suggesting how the April 22 slaughter has profoundly influenced neighboring nations.

Police were sent close to the embassy to guarantee security and avert escalation, although the demonstration stayed non violent. During the march, no confrontations were reported.

Background on the Pahalgam Attack

Twenty-six people, including security personnel and tourists, died in the April 22 Baisaran, Pahalgam assault. Investigators have found that among the offenders were infiltrators from Pakistan led by Adil Ahmed Thoker, a local who had visited Pakistan on a student visa in 2018 and returned with foreign terrorists in 2024.
