PM Modi Hails ‘Double Engine Sarkar’ as BJP Ends AAP’s Decade-Long Rule

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Delhi Assembly Election 2025 with full authority, bringing an end to Aam Aadmi Party’s governance in the national capital for a decade. BJP scored 48 seats, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated the victory at the party headquarters in Delhi and called it a moment of both enthusiasm and relief for the people.

‘Delhi is Free from AAP-da’: PM Modi Cheers BJP’s Win

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the BJP workers and supporters, who were filled with gratitude and development. He said, “Delhi ke logon mein utsah bhi hai, sukoon bhi hai. Utsah Vijay ka hai aur sukoon Delhi ko AAP-da mukt karane ka hai” (The people of Delhi have enthusiasm, and also relief. The enthusiasm is for the victory, and the relief is for freeing Delhi from AAP). He emphasized that the people of Delhi have rejected those who treated the city as their personal property.

Modi also hailed the BJP’s ‘double-engine government,’ highlighting how Delhi’s administration will now align with the Center for faster development. “Ek dasak ki AAP-da se Delhi mukt hui” (Delhi is now free from AAP’s decade-long burden), he added.

Parvesh Verma Defeats Kejriwal, BJP Ends 27-Year Wait

Perhaps the biggest electoral upset was BJP leader Parvesh Verma defeating sitting Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency. The landslide victory for BJP has finally bid goodbye to 27 years of RSS absence from power in the capital.

Meanwhile, AAP managed to secure only 21 seats and was leading in one more, marking a sharp decline in its support base. This election outcome effectively brings an end to Arvind Kejriwal’s tenure as Delhi’s chief minister.

‘Delhi’s Heart Beats for Modi’: Nadda, Shah Celebrate BJP’s Victory

At the grand victory event, PM Modi, flanked by Union Ministers Amit Shah and JP Nadda, reiterated BJP’s commitment to Delhi’s development. BJP President JP Nadda declared, “Dilli ke dil mein Modi basta hai” (Delhi’s heart beats for Modi), reinforcing the public’s trust in the Prime Minister’s leadership.

Amit Shah also reminded the nation about the winning spree of the party across India and said, “BJP created a record in Haryana, set a greater record in Maharashtra, and now created history by registering victory in Delhi.”

‘AAP is a Factory of Lies’: BJP Leaders Slam Kejriwal

JP Nadda, who took a sharp dig at AAP, criticized the governance of Kejriwal and hinted that legal troubles awaited him in the Delhi liquor scam case. “AAP-da jhoot bolne ki factory hai, encyclopedia hai” (AAP is a factory of lies, an encyclopedia), Nadda said. Further, he said, “Delhi ki janta ne unke jail jaane par mohar lagayi” (The people of Delhi have sealed his fate of going to jail).

As BJP supporters were celebrating their party’s landslide victory, the road ahead for AAP and Arvind Kejriwal is uncertain. Delhi is now to enter a new phase of governance, closely aligning with the policies of the central government as BJP is back in power.
