PM Modi Concludes Saudi Visit, Departs for India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his state visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is now on his way back to India, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) confirmed on Tuesday.

Strengthening Strategic Partnership As Modi Visits Saudi Arabia

PM Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia was marked by high-level engagements aimed at strengthening bilateral ties, enhancing strategic cooperation, and exploring new avenues for collaboration in sectors such as energy, investment, and digital infrastructure.

During his stay, Prime Minister Modi participated in the inaugural India-Saudi Arabia Strategic Partnership Council (SPC) meeting. The SPC, co-chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and PM Modi, reviewed the progress of joint working groups and signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), including those focusing on green energy cooperation, fintech, and cultural exchanges.

Key Bilateral Talks and Regional Security

PM Modi also held one-on-one talks with the Saudi Crown Prince, where both leaders reiterated their commitment to a rules-based international order, economic synergy, and regional peace. Discussions included regional security dynamics, counter-terrorism cooperation, and enhanced connectivity between South Asia and the Middle East.

In a significant highlight of the visit, both countries announced the launch of a Joint Investment Fund, aimed at accelerating Saudi investments in Indian infrastructure and technology startups. Additionally, agreements were signed to boost energy collaboration, including a focus on renewable energy and green hydrogen initiatives.

PM Modi Briefed on Pahalgam Terror Attack

Officials confirmed that Prime Minister Modi was briefed on the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where militants targeted a patrol convoy. Security agencies are on high alert, and investigations are ongoing. The Prime Minister is expected to review the situation upon his return.

Modi also interacted with the Indian diaspora in Riyadh, thanking them for their role in deepening the India-Saudi partnership. Addressing a large gathering, he said, “India and Saudi Arabia are walking hand-in-hand toward a future of shared prosperity and global leadership.”

Visit Seen as Diplomatic Momentum Ahead of G20

The Prime Minister’s visit to Riyadh came at a time of increasing global focus on West Asia’s economic diversification and India’s growing geopolitical footprint. With both countries looking to play leading roles in the emerging multipolar world order, the visit is seen as a strategic step toward consolidating mutual interests.

PM Modi is expected to arrive in New Delhi late Tuesday night, concluding a visit that analysts say reaffirms India’s expanding global engagement and diplomatic momentum ahead of the 2025 G20 meetings.
