Pakistan Fires Back Heavily, Kills 3 Civilians After India’s Operation Sindoor On Terror Camps | WATCH

Just hours after India launched precision strikes on terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistani troops opened heavy cross-border shelling in the Karnah area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district. The unprovoked attack killed three civilians early Wednesday morning.

The shelling reportedly began two hours after the Indian Armed Forces executed missile strikes under Operation Sindoor, targeting nine terror locations, including Bahawalpur, a known base of the Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terror group.

In a statement, the Indian Army confirmed the civilian deaths:
“Three innocent civilians lost their lives in indiscriminate firing/shelling. The Indian Army is responding in a proportionate manner.”

According to sources, the artillery exchange along the Line of Control (LoC) is still underway. Officials added that Pakistan violated the ceasefire agreement by targeting Indian military positions, prompting a strong retaliation from Indian forces.

Residents of Karnah have reportedly taken shelter in underground bunkers as the shelling continues. The situation remains tense, with security forces maintaining high alert along the LoC.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defence issued a statement at 1:44 am confirming India’s surgical response to the deadly Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 lives, including one Nepali national.
“Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted,” the ministry noted.

Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reacted strongly to the air strikes, calling them an “act of war” and asserting that “Pakistan reserves the right to respond appropriately.”

Following the strikes, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh posted a message on X (formerly Twitter), stating:
Long live Mother India! (Bharat Mata Ki Jai).”

The situation along the India-Pakistan border remains volatile as both sides brace for possible escalation.
