In a press conference convened on Monday, India’s military presented the extent and gravity of Operation Sindoor, which provided a resounding rebuttal to growing terror activities and cross-border hostility. The operation between May 7 and 10 saw the neutralization of more than 100 terrorists, including key operatives such as Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf, and Mudasir Ahmed.
Lieutenant General Rajeev Ghai, Director General Military Operations (DGMO), emphasized the change in terrorist tactics, saying, “In the past few years, the nature of terrorist activities has changed. Innocent civilians were being targeted.” He continued, “Aatank ki gatividhiyo mein badlav aa raha tha, ab humari military ke sath-sath masoom civilians jo ki apna bachav karne mein vifal the unpe bhi hamle ho rahe the. 2024 mein Jammu sector mein Shivkhori ki or jaate hue yatri aur is saal April mein Pahalgam mein masoom paryatak is khatarnak trend ke vishesh udaharan hain.”

Speaking of the fatal April attack in Pahalgam, Ghai stated, “Pahalgam tak paap ka ye ghada bhar chuka tha.” He asserted that India had shown restraint until repeated attacks made a robust military response unavoidable.
The joint briefing, conducted by Vice Admiral A N Pramod and Air Marshal A K Bharti, also confirmed the destruction of 11 Pakistani air bases and heavy damage to Pakistan’s military infrastructure. In addition, 35 to 40 Pakistani Army soldiers were killed in artillery and small arms fire exchanges along the Line of Control.
