‘Our Targets Were…’: India Breaks Silence on Pakistan Nuclear Leakage Claims | Watch

Spokesperson of Ministry of External affairs of India Randhir Jaiswal on Tuesday responded to questions regarding reports over Pakistan’s Kirana Hills nuclear facility in relation to India’s Operation Sindoor military strikes, stating that it was up to the Pakistani side to respond to allegations being leveled over it.

Social Media Speculation on Nuclear Leakage Addressed

During Tuesday’s press briefing, Randhir Jaiswal was questioned over social media buzz on ‘nuclear leakage’ in Pakistan following Indian strikes.

“Talk of Egyptian or American aircraft those are questions for them (Pakistan) to answer, not for us. Our position was made very clear during the defence briefing. As for your question, the Pakistani minister has already made some remarks on that,” he said.

India Clarifies Military Action Was Conventional

Clarifying India’s stance, he added, “Our military action was entirely within the conventional domain. There were some reports suggesting that Pakistan’s National Command Authority would convene, but those were later denied. In fact, Pakistan’s government representatives have officially denied this on record.”

“As you know, India has a firm stand that it will not give in to nuclear blackmail or allow cross-border terrorism to be conducted, invoking it in conversations with various countries, we’ve also cautioned that they subscribing to such scenarios would hurt them in their own region.”

On Trump’s Remarks and India’s Strategic Doctrine

Reacting to US President Donald Trump’s comments, in which he said the US was responsible for averting a possible nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan that would have killed millions, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal replied, ”The military action on our part was completely within the conventional sphere.” There were some reports, though, that Pakistan National Command Authority would sit on 10th May but this was denied later by them. Pakistan FM has denied himself the nuclear aspect on record.

He reiterated India’s consistent policy on such issues and said, “As you are aware, India has a clear position that it will never succumb to nuclear blackmail or permit cross-border terrorism to be carried out invoking it. In discussions with countries, we have also warned that their adhering to such situations could cause harm to them in their own area.”

Jaiswal Slams Pakistan’s Attempt to Spin Operation Sindoor

Randhir Jaiswal, while reacting to the comments of Pakistan foreign minister Ishaq Dar in an interview to foreign media, said that Pakistan’s terrorism centers in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Muzaffarabad, and other places were leveled to the ground. Its army power was greatly diminished by India.

“In the last week, as a result of Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has seen its terrorism centres in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Muzaffarabad and other places destroyed. Thereafter, its military capabilities were significantly degraded by us and key airbases effectively put out of action. If the Pakistani FM wishes to project these as achievements, he is welcome to do so. Where India is concerned, our stand was clear and consistent from the start. We would target terrorist infrastructure operating out of Pakistan. If the Pakistani military stayed out, there would be no problem. If they fired on us, we would respond suitably. Till the night of 9th May, Pakistan was threatening India with a massive assault. Once their attempt failed on 10th May morning and they received a devastating Indian counter-response, their tune changed and their DGMO eventually reached out to us…”

India Maintains Consistent Posture as Pakistan Buckles

He highlighted that India maintained a consistent approach throughout, while Pakistan’s posture shifted only after its airbases were struck.

“…In essence, India’s position remained the same; Pakistan’s position changed on 10th May morning after its airbases were effectively put out of action. All you have to do is to look at who called who to negotiate the terms of the cessation of firing. You all know that satellite pictures are available commercially. I urge you to look at the sites which Pakistan claims to have attacked in India. Contrast it with these sites and places which we successfully targeted and destroyed. That will give you a clear answer. Claiming victory is an old habit…”
