Operation Sindoor Fallout: Amit Shah Calls Emergency Border Meet, PM to Brief President

Following India’s pinpoint strikes under Operation Sindoor, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called an emergency high-level security meeting with Chief Ministers, DGPs, and Chief Secretaries of border states. The meeting today at the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) seeks to review the changing national security scenario in the wake of India’s retaliatory strike.

High-Level Participation Expected

Chief Ministers, Directors General of Police (DGPs), and Chief Secretaries from Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Sikkim, and West Bengal will be there. The Lieutenant Governors of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will also be present at the deliberations.

The fact that the Centre is taking the prevailing geopolitical scenario so seriously is reflected in the urgency of calling the meeting.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is to update President Droupadi Murmu on the goals and results of Operation Sindoor, India’s prompt reaction to the Pahalgam terror strike. The air strikes, sources said, had hit nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, giving a clear message against terrorism.

Strategic Coordination Underway

This two-pronged action — the internal security review and the external diplomatic briefing — is reflective of India’s integrated approach to addressing cross-border terrorism. With tensions still running high, particularly along the northern and western borders, today’s deliberations may influence short-term preventive measures, such as increased surveillance and troops on alert.

As the course of events turns, the national government is unfaltering. “Hum sab ke liye garv ka pal hai,” PM Modi declared to his government, in commemoration of successfully carrying out Operation Sindoor. With the country observing keenly, today’s session may hold the key for India’s subsequent action towards its national security.
