India on Wednesday carried out precision missile strikes on nine terror-linked locations across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK). The Indian Army confirmed these were in direct response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, that left 26 people, including one Nepali national, dead.
Nine Terror Camps Targeted
According to the Indian Army’s official release, the strikes were launched under Operation Sindoor, hitting key terror infrastructure used for planning and directing attacks against India.
The statement read, “A little while ago, the Indian Armed Forces launched ‘Operation Sindoor’, hitting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir from where terrorist attacks against India have been planned and directed. Altogether, nine sites have been targeted.”
No Pakistani Military Sites Hit
The Army clarified that the operation was focused, measured, and non-escalatory. In a key part of the statement, it stressed that no Pakistani military facilities were targeted.
“India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution,” the statement read, signalling New Delhi’s intent to act decisively against terrorism without escalating military conflict.
In Response to the Pahalgam Massacre
These precision strikes were a direct reaction to the barbaric terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22, in which 25 Indian citizens and one Nepali were killed. India reaffirmed its commitment to justice, saying that those responsible will be held accountable.
The Ministry of Defence emphasized that the Indian government and armed forces will not tolerate cross-border terrorism and are prepared to take targeted action whenever necessary.
