European Union President Offers Condolences to India Following Deadly Pahalgam Attack

European Union (EU) President Ursula von der Leyen expressed her deep condolences to India following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed numerous innocent lives.

EU President Shows Support to India

In a heartfelt message posted on Twitter, von der Leyen condemned the “vile terror attack” and conveyed her sympathy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India, stating, “The vile terror attack in Pahalgam today stole so many innocent lives. My deepest condolences to @narendramodi and every Indian heart grieving today.”

She added that despite the tragedy, she had faith in India’s resilience, saying, “Yet I know that India’s spirit is unbreakable. You will stand strong in this ordeal.” Von der Leyen also reaffirmed Europe’s solidarity with India, emphasizing that “Europe will stand with you.”

Terror Strike in Pahalgam

The strike occurred early during the day, when it targeted a security patrol in Pahalgam, a famous hill station in Kashmir. Reports indicate that there were several casualties, with security forces being quick to initiate operations against the attackers. The strike shook the country to its foundations, triggering increased security in the area.

World Support for India Amidst Pahalgam Attack

Von der Leyen’s words are in the midst of a tide of international condemnations and declarations of solidarity by governments across the globe. Global leaders have come out in support of India, denouncing the barbaric act and pledging solidarity in the war against terrorism.

While India struggles to deal with the consequences of the attack, Prime Minister Modi and the, Indian government have promised to provide justice to the victims and tighten national security.
