In a bold retaliation to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of Wednesday, striking multiple terror launchpads in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK).

According to officials, Indian forces carried out 24 precision strikes across nine locations, targeting key infrastructure of terror outfits. Among the most significant targets was the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) chief’s headquarters—Markaz Subhan Allah, in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) led the strike on the JeM stronghold, reportedly reducing the facility to rubble. In a video widely circulated on social media, visuals showed the site before and after the airstrike, confirming its complete destruction.

BJP MP Tejasvi Surya shared the visuals on X (formerly Twitter), stating: “Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, Pakistan, the terror factory that orchestrated Pulwama & other attacks against India now lies in ruins. #OperationSindoor precisely struck at the heart of terror by destroying JeM’s operational headquarters. PM Shri @NarendraModi’s message is clear. India answers terror in the only language it understands. Kudos to the Indian Armed Forces!”

Apart from Bahawalpur, the strikes also hit Muridke and Sialkot in Pakistan and five locations in PoK, all of which were identified as active terrorist camps. The government emphasized that only terror infrastructure was targeted and no civilian casualties occurred.

At a press briefing later in the day, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh detailed the operation. Misri reaffirmed India’s right to self-defense, stating: “Pakistan remains a haven for terrorists,” and that India exercised its right to respond, prevent, and resist cross-border attacks.

The Indian government also made public the coordinates of terror camps hit during Operation Sindoor, reinforcing its claim of striking only legitimate targets linked to the Pahalgam attack.
