The Pakistani Senate came out in a vitriolic diatribe against India on Tuesday, as a woman parliamentarian came out with a chain of inflammatory and communal statements. Speaking in Pakistan’s upper house of Parliament, the senator asserted, “The first brick at the new Babri Mosque in Ayodhya will be laid by Pak Army soldiers & the first Azan will be recited by Pakistan Army chief Asif Munir.”
She further ratcheted up tensions by saying, “We are not wearing bangles,” which was interpreted as both gendered and aggressive.
Sikh Sentiments Abused to Target India
In an attempt to use religious emotions, the senator asserted that Sikh soldiers won’t attack Pakistan if there is a conflict with India. “If they are threatening Pakistan, then let them know that the Sikh army will not attack Pakistan. Because it’s the land of Guru Nanak for them,” she remarked.
The remarks have attracted criticism for trying to use religious fissures, especially by invoking Indian Sikh soldiers.

Pakistani Senator Call for Civilian Mobilization Against India
To give an appearance of nationalistic togetherness, the lawmaker stated, “They should know that the army isn’t just 6-7 lakh in numbers. These 25 crore people will stand with the Army when the time comes.” Such remarks have raised eyebrows regarding attempts to militarize public opinion and ramp up cross-border animosity.
Praise for Khalistani Terrorist
In a surprise gesture, the senator publicly commended Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who has been designated as a Khalistani terrorist by India. “We should appreciate the Sikh leaders of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. He announced that they will not let the Indian Army enter Pakistan from Indian Punjab,” she said.
Commendation of a terror leader in Parliament has attracted scathing criticism from analysts and counter-terrorism experts.
Historical Claims and Pahalgam Attack Fallout
The address also carried a hint towards India’s history, with the senator stating, “They should remember we ruled Hindustan (India) for 1000 years.” The anti-India remarks have come during an overall diplomatic spat following the Pahalgam terror attack that has prompted parliamentary debates in the Pakistani parliament (four hours and nine minutes) as well as the UK parliament (1.45 hours).
