Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday met with the victims’ families in the Pahalgam terror attack who were killed in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. His visit followed hours after he made floral tributes to the victims at the Police Control Room (PCR) alongside Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
Amit Shah Consoles Grieving Families in Srinagar
Following paying tributes, Shah had an emotional interaction with the grieving families, hearing their grievances and promising them justice. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to taking stringent action against the perpetrators of the fatal attack. The victims, who were primarily tourists, were killed in a cold-blooded attack at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday, the worst attack in the area since the 2019 Pulwama disaster.

The government stands committed in its determination that the perpetrators of this horrific act are held accountable,” Shah stated earlier in the day.
Support and Action Promised
Officials informed that the mortal remains of the victims were taken to the PCR in Srinagar at the early hours of Wednesday. Subsequently, Amit Shah, accompanied by LG Sinha and CM Abdullah, reached the scene and offered condolences to the departed. Shah thereafter went to meet the injured at GMC Anantnag to inquire about their well-being and show solidarity.
The Home Minister’s visit to the families and the injured is a demonstration of the Centre’s concern for both healing and justice after the attack.
