A Tihar Jail official has been suspended after a video of him dancing with a pistol went viral on social media. The official, identified as Deepak Sharma, served as the assistant superintendent at Mandoli Central Jail No. 15.
In the 18-second video clip, Sharma is seen dancing at a function with a revolver in his hand, along with a few other people. At one point, he appears to point the gun at another man before lowering it. The incident led to the Prisons Department of Delhi launching a fact-finding inquiry, overseen by the superintendent of Mandoli Central Jail No. 15, to thoroughly investigate the matter.

This isn’t the first time Sharma has found himself in the spotlight. Last year, he accused two “fitness influencers” of defrauding him of Rs 50 lakh, promising profits from their business. Sharma later discovered that the influencers were allegedly operating a shell company, deceiving several investors similarly.
Sharma is also a social media personality with 440,000 followers on Instagram.
