In a significant breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir police have apprehended three individuals believed to be involved in the recent firing incident at Khajuria Food Mall, Miran Sahib, recovering a live cartridge in the process.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday evening, saw local miscreants opening fire at Khajuria Food Mall, Miran Sahib, alongside demands for a ransom amount. Subsequently, a similar episode unfolded in Chohalla, RS Pura.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Guga, Krrish, and Kulbir Bhagat, according to police sources.
“In response to these incidents, the police swiftly initiated action, leading to the registration of cases FIR No. 44/307 336 34 IPC and 3/25, 3/27 Arms Act at PS Miran Sahib, and Case FIR No 74/2024 U/S 452/307/34, IPC & 3/25, 3/27 Arms Act at PS RS Pura,” authorities stated.
Police teams, leveraging human intelligence and technical surveillance, launched raids across the jurisdictions of Miran Sahib and RS Pura police stations. These efforts were bolstered by the collection and analysis of CCTV footage from the crime scenes and surrounding areas.
Preliminary investigations revealed the confessed involvement of the accused in the firing incident, including the demand for ransom and other criminal activities.
Notably, Guga and Kulbir Bhagat are also linked to other criminal cases, further underscoring the gravity of their involvement in illicit activities. The arrests mark a significant stride in law enforcement efforts to curb criminal activities in the region, reflecting the police’s commitment to maintaining peace and security for residents.
