During his three-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a roundtable discussion with prominent figures from the tech industry, focusing on sectors such as semiconductors, electronics, and biotechnology. The conversations revolved around India’s potential and the myriad opportunities it presents.
In a social media update, PM Modi remarked, “Had a fruitful roundtable with tech CEOs in New York, discussing aspects relating to technology, innovation, and more. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India.”
Jensen Huang’s Insights After Meeting PM Modi
After meeting Prime Minister Modi, Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia, shared his impressions, stating, “PM Modi is an incredible student. Every time I meet him, he wants to learn more about technology.” He highlighted the vast potential of artificial intelligence, remarking, “AI is a new industry, and I am looking forward to partnering with India in a deep way.” Huang noted that Nvidia is collaborating with various companies, startups, and IITs across India. He concluded with an optimistic perspective, saying, “AI truly democratizes computing, and this is India’s moment.”

Progress on Innovation Ecosystems
The leaders also celebrated the advancements made since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) last November, aimed at strengthening innovation ecosystems under the “Innovation Handshake” initiative. Since then, two industry roundtables have been organized to foster connections between startups, venture capital firms, and government officials, encouraging investment in innovation.
PM Modi’s Engagement with the Indian Community
On Sunday, PM Modi addressed a large gathering of the Indian community in New York. On the first day of his visit, he participated in the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit, during which he agreed to host the next summit in India in 2025.
