Twitter users slammed Kajol’s courtroom drama, The Trial- Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha for its portrayal of ‘woke feminism’. For those unaware, the series released on Disney+ Hotstar last night. The series is directed by Suparn S. Varma and is revolved around a courtroom drama and features Bollywood diva Kajol in the role of Noyonika Sengupta. The series has garnered mixed reviews from Twitter users.
Some users expressed their disappointment with the series. While some also defended Kajol and praised the show. One of the Twitter users remarked, “Court cases are won and investigations are completed faster than Maggi is made, by an intern who resumes law practice after 13 long years, and yet, somehow wins all her cases, something even a pro lawyer would find hard, in this disaster of a series.” Another wrote, “Okay I’m supposed to say something intellectual; but man the first episode of #TheTrial! The Cast! The direction! The camera work! The BGM! The dialogues! The delivery! Everyone needs to have it on their weekend binge!”
