The Supreme Court in the case Nisha Kumari and Or’s v. Haryana Public Service Commission and Anr which was earlier stayed due to the clash with the schedule of the Preliminary Exam of Madhya Pradesh Civil Judge, Junior Division (Entry Level) Exam -2021 to be held on 20, 21 and 22 May, 2022. The Court directed for the Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch) Mains Examination.

The dates were being finalized and due to the clash of dates with the Delhi Judicial Services examination. Furthermore, the dates were again postponed to 6th to 8th May by way of issuing a notification dated 30th March. The Main Examination on 22.03.2022 was postponed and finalized for being conducted on 22nd to 24th April, 2022. The Mains Examination was tentative initially scheduled for 15th to 17th April, 2022.

from May 6 to May 8 the Mains Examination of Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch) – 2021 was to be conducted, as an interim measure and on the last date of hearing. For either of the rescheduled ling the dates on the next date of hearing or assist the Court in fixing new dates, The Bench had asked the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

An intervention application in the writ petition was filled by the Petitioner before the High Court The intervenors counsels comprising of Advocate-on-Record Namit Saxena and the Senior Advocate Dama Seshadri Naidu represented before the court and no order has been passed regarding the application in the last date of hearing.

the candidates were constrained to file the writ petition before the Supreme Court the Court was considering a writ petition filed by the candidates. The petitioner’s counsel submitted that though the High Court had dismissed a plea seeking postponement on April 22.

The Court directed that the Haryana Civil Service (Judicial Branch) Mains exam be held on 20, 21 and 22 May, In view of the aforementioned we dispose of this WP and Counsels for the High Court as well PSC have obtained instruction and stated they would hold the examination on 20, 21 and 22nd May, 2022.

The bench comprising of Justice Vineet Saran and the Justice JK Maheshwari observed that as per the instructions received the said exam can be postponed to 20, 21 and 22 May and was informed to the bench by the counsels appearing on behalf of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Public Service Commission.
