Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence startup, xAI Grok, is set to unveil its services to a limited user group, as announced by the tech magnate on social media. The selective release of the AI platform starts today, with Musk touting the initial AI model as one of the most advanced available. Once the system transitions out of the early beta phase, access will extend to all subscribers of the X Premium+ service, which, according to Techcrunch, costs $16 monthly for an ad-free experience on the platform.

In order to set the Grok system apart from other AI models, Musk emphasized its distinct advantages, highlighting its real-time data access through the X platform. He also acknowledged the system’s unexpected incorporation of sarcasm in its responses, expressing surprise at its development direction.

The startup, headed by Musk and a team of experts from major tech companies and research institutions, is advised by Dan Hendrycks from the Center for AI Safety. Musk’s AI ambitions have grown since the billionaire’s split with ChatGPT developer OpenAI co-founders Sam Altman and Ilya Sutskever several years ago, the Techcrunch report claimed.
