Ever since the Taliban have captured Afghanistan, the movement at the India-Pakistan borders has intensified. It is reported that the movement of terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir Valley has also gained momentum and terrorists are conspiring to do “something big” in the Valley. The intelligence agencies have issued alerts regarding the same. According to the reports, these terrorists could be taking support of the Taliban for this.
According to the intelligence agency, five terrorist groups have infiltrated into the region of Jammu and Kashmir in the last few days, and it is reported that they might be involved in the planning of doing “something big” in the area. The agency also informed that there are about 25 to 30 such terrorists who are being investigated. Apart from this, the security forces and agencies are concerned about the disappearance of 55 youths from the Jammu and Kashmir region. It is reported that these people who have disappeared in the last few months are associated with terrorist organisations.
As per the intelligence agency, more than 250 terrorists are residing in the camps near the Line of Control (LoC). Agencies said that they are on alert and are ready to deal with the situation. The trend has changed in the last one month—in the Valley which used to be comparatively peaceful in the last few years, incidents of violence have increased in the previous one month. This is also being linked to the establishment of Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
Within the last 10 days, intelligence agencies have issued eight alerts, all of which concerns suspects who can carry out a major crime. A senior intelligence agency official told The Daily Guardian that some information has been received about the change in location of Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists. Security agencies have also been warned regarding attacks on important locations, attacks on security forces, grenade attacks, and IED blasts in public places.
The intelligence agency report specifically mentioned how terrorists are using social media to their advantage, and the security agencies have been alerted about the same. In recent days, the activity of terrorists on social media has also increased. The youth of the valley are being targeted in the videos released on social media. The intelligence agency official told TDG that they are keeping a close watch on such videos.
The terrorists hiding in Pakistan are upset about the way the terrorists are being taken out by security forces. This has enraged Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, as well as other terrorist organisations operating in the Kashmir Valley, to the point that they are planning something major.
