Telangana Election Results 2023: K Chandrashekhar Rao’s Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has conceded defeat in the Telangana Assembly elections, as the Congress surged ahead, crossing the majority mark early in the day and maintaining a commanding lead. Celebrations have erupted in Hyderabad as the grand old party consolidates its hold on over 60 seats.

Party leader KTR, taking to X, extended congratulations to the Congress on securing the mandate and wished them good luck in their newfound success. The unexpected concession from KCR’s party signals a significant shift in the political landscape of Telangana.

The Congress, with a staggering lead on 65 seats, has left the ruling BRS trailing with only 40. The BJP and AIMIM find themselves behind, with leads in 8 and 6 seats, respectively. In the 119-seat Telangana Assembly, parties need to reach the magic number of 60 to form a government.
