Move effective from December itself for households consuming less than 20,000 litres a month.
Ahead of the Greater Hyderabad municipal (GHMC) elections, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao released the TRS manifesto with several sops for the city’s dwellers. He announced that water will be supplied free to households in Hyderabad from December itself and no water tariff will be levied on household consumers.
Releasing the election manifesto for the GHMC elections at the party headquarters in Telangana Bhavan, Chandrasekhar Rao said, “Our government will supply free water from December to households that consume less than 20,000 litres a month. We will also supply free power supply to laundries, salons, and dhobi ghats across the state from December.” The Chief Minister announced that the government will reimburse the state GST for small budget films up to Rs 10 crore. He also announced that theatres can increase the number of shows per day and make ticket pricing flexible in view of the losses incurred by the industry.
KCR also announced waiver of Motor Vehicle Tax amounting to Rs 267 crore for the two quarters of the current year payable by 3,37,611 vehicle owners, all over the state, including GHMC. The CM said that the Congress and the BJP have failed to create wealth in the nation and distribute it to people and Telangana did it successfully. He said he may take the mantle to lead many parties across the nation to fill the gap left by both the national parties. Hyderabad residents are set to vote on 1 December with TRS, BJP, Congress, AIMIM and other parties in the fray. The result of the election will be declared on 4 December.
