Google has confirmed that its screenless fitness tracker, Fitbit Air, will launch in India in October 2026. The wearable was introduced globally in May and is designed for continuous health and fitness tracking without a display or traditional smartwatch-style notifications.

The company has not yet announced the exact India launch date or official Indian price. However, the global model starts at $99.99, while an earlier Indian retail listing had already indicated that the device was being prepared for the market.

Google Fitbit Air India Launch Date Confirmed

Google has confirmed that Fitbit Air will be available in India in October 2026. The announcement followed the company’s August hardware event in India, where it also introduced its latest Pixel devices. The October window is official, but a specific sale date has not been revealed yet.

Earlier, Fitbit Air had appeared on an Indian e-commerce listing, while reports also pointed to regulatory certification activity. These developments suggested that an Indian launch was being prepared, but the October timeline was only confirmed by Google in August.

Fitbit Air Price In India: What To Expect

Google has not announced the Fitbit Air India price. In the US, the standard Fitbit Air starts at $99.99, while the Stephen Curry Special Edition launched at $129.99.

An earlier Indian retail listing showed prices above the expected direct conversion of the US price, but those listings should not be treated as the official India MRP. The final price, available colours and retail offers are expected to be announced closer to the October launch.

Screenless Design And Lightweight Build

The Fitbit Air takes a different approach from conventional fitness bands and smartwatches. It has no display, so users cannot view notifications, steps or health statistics directly on their wrist. Instead, the collected information is synced to the Google Health app on a connected smartphone.

The tracker itself weighs 5.2 grams without the band and 12 grams with the band. The device measures 34.9mm in length, 17mm in width and 8.3mm in height. It is also water resistant up to 50 metres.

Google offers the Fitbit Air with different band styles, including Performance Loop, Active Band and Elevated Modern Band options. The company has also introduced a Stephen Curry Special Edition.

Health And Fitness Tracking Features

Fitbit Air is built around continuous health monitoring. Google says it can track heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep stages and duration, blood oxygen measurements and heart rhythm information, including irregular rhythm notifications where supported.

The tracker can also automatically detect workouts and send activity information to the Google Health app. Users can review their fitness data and health insights on their phone rather than on the wearable itself.

The device includes an optical heart-rate monitor, an accelerometer, a gyroscope, red and infrared sensors for SpO2 monitoring, a temperature sensor and a vibration motor. Feature availability can vary by region.

Battery Life And Charging

Battery life is one of the main advantages of Fitbit Air. Google rates the tracker for up to seven days on a charge, although actual battery life can vary depending on usage and enabled features.

The tracker takes approximately 90 minutes to charge from 0% to 100%. Google also says five minutes of charging can provide up to one day of battery life.

Google Health App And AI Features

Fitbit Air works with the Google Health app, which brings together health and fitness information from compatible devices and services. The tracker requires a Google Account and the Google Health app, and it supports most smartphones running Android 11 or newer and iPhones running iOS 16.4 or newer.

Google also positions Fitbit Air around its Google Health Coach, which can provide personalised health and fitness guidance. Some advanced features require a Google Health Premium subscription. The standard Fitbit Air purchase initially included a three-month Google Health Premium trial in markets where the product was launched.
