The ICC responded to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s complaint about the lengthy commute to the ground for their upcoming T20 World Cup matches in New York by relocating the Pakistan team to a closer hotel. Following intervention from chairman Mohsin Naqvi, they were moved to a hotel just five minutes away from the purpose-built stadium in Westbury, New York.

Pakistan’s group stage matches against archrival India on Sunday and Canada on June 11 will now be more conveniently located. The source from the PCB, speaking anonymously, revealed these developments.

In contrast, the Indian cricket team, also playing their group games in New York, is staying at a hotel only 10 minutes from the ground, where they secured victory in their first match on Wednesday.

Sri Lanka, after their disappointing performance against South Africa, expressed concerns over the long commute to the ground in New York. Their allocated hotel was over an hour’s drive away from the venue.

Pakistan, after their opening Group A match against co-host United States in Dallas on Thursday, will travel to New York for their upcoming fixtures.
