India’s winning streak in the ongoing T20 World Cup continued as they secured a victory against co-hosts USA by 7 wickets in their previous Group A match. While opting to bowl first, Rohit Sharma’s team restricted USA to 110/8, with pacer Arshdeep Singh shining with a magnificent four-wicket haul. Despite losing three early wickets during the chase, an unbeaten partnership between Suryakumar Yadav (50*) and Shivam Dube (31*) ensured India’s victory.

During the match, there was a tense moment when USA had a chance to dismiss Suryakumar Yadav for 23, but they failed to capitalize on the opportunity. In the 13th over of India’s chase, Surya played a shot towards the square leg boundary, and although USA’s Saurabh Netravalkar attempted to take the catch, he couldn’t hold on.

Witnessing her husband survive this close call, Suryakumar Yadav’s wife, Devisha Shetty, breathed a sigh of relief and burst into laughter.

This win marked India’s third victory in the ongoing T20 World Cup, with earlier wins against Ireland and Pakistan.

India skipper Rohit Sharma praised the team’s performance, highlighting the partnership between Surya and Dube. He also acknowledged the progress of Indian American cricketers, emphasizing their hard work and dedication.

Moving forward, Team India will face Canada in their final group stage match of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday in Florida.
