Sun’s up, are you?

The spiritual sun is of course another way of describing what some have called God. Being in the light of the spiritual sun is to realise that belief, which is fixed and static, is not the truth, which is fluid and dynamic.

The closer you get to the physical sun the hotter you become. But if, for a moment, we acknowledge the presence of a spiritual sun, the closer you can be the cooler you become. Not in temperature but in temperament, as the peace that is your true underlying nature is reflected, known and felt again.

Expose your self to the sun as you lie on a beach and your skin will become redder, then darker. Expose your self to the spiritual sun and the lighter you will feel. Simply because being in the light of that energy dissolves any darkness, therefore any heaviness, within you. In other words, the distortions you have created within your consciousness due to the illusions you have assimilated are dissolved, even if it is only for a few moments.

Look directly at the physical sun and you will be blinded by the light. Look directly at the spiritual sun and you will start to see with greater clarity. Not with physical eyes but with your third eye, the eye of your intellect, as you ‘see for your self’ and say, “AHA, now I understand!” Then, one day, there will be a recognition that ‘this’ is all there is.

The spiritual sun is of course another way of describing what some have called God. But this is such a loaded word that brings with it so much baggage. Not to mention its association with religion/s that rely on ancient stories and their multi-million interpretations. Religion says it ‘tells the truth’, and yet it often seems to be a kind of truth that is deriveld from nothing more than a ‘belief system’ or a series of signposts. Being in the light of the spiritual sun is to realise that belief, which is fixed and static, is not the truth, which is fluid and dynamic.

This is why a direct relationship with the source of spiritual energy is necessary to become authentic in our self. That conscious connection begins with the experience and realisation of oneself as non-material energy. Some would say the energy of spirit or soul. But it seems we live in a world that teaches us that the primary reality, indeed the only reality, is a material one. The idea that ‘I am spirit’ is a strange suggestion to many if not most people. But how else can we relate directly to the source, to the non-material spiritual sun, unless we start to realise our self as a mini sun! Definitely not as bright or as pure or as powerful as the source, but a spiritual being occupying and animating a physical form.

So how do you get close to this spiritual sun? While getting close (and hot) to the physical sun is a matter of distance and time, getting close to the spiritual sun is a matter of vibration. Therefore, time and distance are irrelevant. At every moment we are each emanating energy that we sometimes call vibration. We all know people who have a low vibration that seems to drain our energy. Conversely, we know others with a high emanation which has an elevating effect on us when in their company.

Coming close to the spiritual sun occurs when we refine the frequency of the energy that emanates from our consciousness. Those invisible, non-material creations like thoughts and feelings, attitudes and perceptions are our vibrations. Raising the frequency of such vibrations is often referred to as the process of spiritual awakening (becoming aware of the self as spirit/soul). Perhaps that is why some kind of meditation has endured down through the ages as many have realised that the idea of ‘waking up’ is not confined to opening our bleary eyes to the morning sunlight.
