Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has directed the quick collation of data regarding the collateral damage caused to fruit orchards, trees, transmission lines of dams, state’s power distribution utility and residential homes due to cyclone Tauktae in Sindhudurg district and a real time submission of the report.

Thackeray also reviewed the status of damage caused to underground power transmission lines of MSEDCL, dams and the Chipi airport project at a meeting held in the airport that was also attended by guardian minister of the district Uday Samant, transport minister advocate Anil Parab, member of parliament Vinayak Raut, members of the Assembly Deepak Kesarkar, Vaibhav Naik and chief secretary Sitaram Kunte.

“Although the prior alert issued on the cyclone helped us to activate the state machinery, there have been large-scale losses this time. Notwithstanding the inclement nature of the weather we ensured that the supply feeds of oxygen throughout the district for treatment of Covid-19 patients was not stopped. I thank the local administration for their efforts in this regard. Complete the procedure of recording ‘panchnama’ regarding the cyclone damage and submit the report immediately,” Thackeray said.
