If we have a look at the record of Marcus Stoinis in international cricket, there is nothing outstanding in it. But Stoinis has proved to be a brilliant match-winner for his team, Australia. This is actually the real sign of a big player who proves to be the most useful for the team despite not playing a big innings or without taking so many wickets together.

Stoinis’ all-round brilliance helped Delhi Capitals (DC) beat Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in a Super Over thriller at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. He performed gloriously with bat as well as ball and took his team to victory. It is his first year in the Delhi Capitals. Virat Kohli is the guy who must be thinking at this point of time as to why the team management let him go while he could prove to be a real trump card for RCB in this season. When Delhi Capitals lost six wickets in just 96 runs, it appeared that DC would be bundled out of the match, but then Stoinis’ show started. Brutalising Chris Jordan and Sheldon Cottrell, Stoinis got the team to be back in the game and played a superb innings of 53 runs off just 21 balls.

Kings XI Punjab seems to have overreliance on Sheldon Cottrell and T20 specialist Chris Jordan. The KXIP goes by the impression that apart from Mohammed Shami its bowling attack could be sharp enough with the inclusion of these two bowlers of foreign teams. The KXIP team management did not even show a hitch in keeping big players such as Chris Gayle and Mujeeb out for accommodating the foreigner bowlers but Stoinis blasted both of them. After the flamboyant batting, Stoinis completed his remaining task with the ball. In the 20th over of KXIP’s innings, just one run was required off three deliveries.
