Following a hard-fought victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins lauded all-rounder Nitish Reddy for his outstanding performance, which ultimately made the crucial difference between the two teams. Despite Punjab Kings’ valiant effort led by Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma, they fell short by two runs in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against SRH at Mullanpur Stadium.

Cummins praised Nitish for his impressive debut last week, highlighting his contributions with the bat, in the field, and with the ball, emphasizing how his innings of 64 runs greatly impacted their total of 182. Cummins also commended the overall team effort, noting the significance of the ‘Impact Player’ rule in bolstering their batting lineup. Reflecting on the match, Cummins emphasized the importance of a strong start, particularly with the new ball, and shared insights into their bowling strategy aimed at maximizing success.

Despite SRH’s initial struggles, a crucial partnership between Nitish Reddy and Abdul Samad helped propel their score. In the run-chase, PBKS fought hard but ultimately fell short, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar shining as the standout bowler for SRH. Nitish Reddy’s exceptional performance earned him the ‘Player of the Match’ award as SRH moved up to fifth place in the standings, while PBKS sits in sixth place.
