Why Did Kuldeep Yadav Slap Rinku Singh After KKR Beat DC in IPL? | Watch

In a post-match incident, Delhi Capitals (DC) spinner Kuldeep Yadav was spotted slapping Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) batter Rinku Singh after their IPL 2025 match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday. The act, which was caught on camera, soon went viral on the internet as fans relished the friendship between the two Uttar Pradesh cricketers.

Slap-Kalesh: Kuldeep Yadav slapped Rinku Singh Twice

The slap-kalesh exchange happened during the usual player interaction after the game. Although they played for opposing teams, Kuldeep and Rinku have been friends for a long time, and their teams haven’t issued any statement on this slap; rather, it was a friendly cheering slap or something is going wrong between them.

While looking at the video, the first slap was looking a friendly slap and Rinku Singh also smiling but things turned dark after this when Kuldeep Yadav slapped him again. The reaction after the second slap was not a good one by Rinku Singh.

KKR Win 14-Run to Remain in Contention

In the field, the game was a high-scoring thriller. Asked to bat first, KKR scored a strong 204 for 9 due to vital inputs from Angkrish Raghuvanshi (44) and Rinku Singh (36), who established a solid 61-run partnership. Rinku Singh unleashed a powerful attack against Kuldeep Yadav, hitting two boundaries and a six in a 17-run over, to take KKR past the 150-run mark.

Even though the momentum was lost as Raghuvanshi and Rinku left in rapid succession, Andre Russell provided important runs at the death with two fours and a six. Mitchell Starc’s last over theatrics, where he claimed two wickets, took KKR to the 200-run mark.

DC’s Late Surge Falls Short

Pursuing 205, Delhi Capitals came up short even as Faf du Plessis (62), Axar Patel (43), and Vipraj Nigam (38) put in hard work. KKR bowlers, spearheaded by Sunil Narine (3/29), kept their cool and limited the Capitals to 190/9.

The victory took KKR to nine points, keeping them in the playoffs race while DC stayed in the top four with 12 points.
