What Is Kagiso Rabada’s IPL 2025 Salary Amid Suspension From Gujarat Titans?

Gujarat Titans fast bowler Kagiso Rabada, who had returned to India recently after a temporary exit amid the IPL 2025 season, was previously suspended after an adverse analytical result was associated with the consumption of a recreational substance. Rabada, who had returned to South Africa in April citing personal reasons, acknowledged his suspension through an official release.

As has been reported, I have just returned to South Africa from playing the IPL for personal reasons. This was because I returned an adverse analytical result for the consumption of a recreational substance. I am truly sorry to all those whom I have disappointed. I will never take the privilege of being able to play cricket for granted. This privilege is far bigger than me.”. It is above my individual ambition. I am currently serving a provisional suspension and I am excited to get back on the game I love to play,” explained Rabada.

Gujarat Titans Recruited Rabada for ₹10.75 Crore in Mega Auction

Kagiso Rabada, one of the top players in the IPL and Purple Cap holder in 2020, was a prized pick during the IPL 2025 mega auction. Gujarat Titans picked up the South African bowler for an impressive amount of ₹10.75 crore, but reiterated their belief in his skills.

Nonetheless, Rabada got to appear in just two games for GT before leaving. He picked up two wickets in those games, thus creating a gap in the team’s bowling pace attack.

Titans Preserve Superior Position Despite Misfortune

In spite of the loss due to Rabada’s unavailability, Gujarat Titans have been in good form in IPL 2025. Led by Shubman Gill, the team is placed second in the points table with seven victories out of a total of ten matches. They have lost a mere three matches until now.

Their next assignment will be against Mumbai Indians on May 6. MI, with the same record, are currently at the top due to a better net run rate. With Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals out of playoff contention, GT is looking to seal a top-two position in the league.

Rabada’s return to India is the indication of his potential availability for the coming games, subject to successfully clearing the current suspension proceedings.
