Watch: Rohit Sharma Polishes T20 World Cup Trophy Ahead Of Wankhede Stadium Celebration

Mumbai witnessed jubilation and fanfare as the Indian cricket team celebrated their ICC T20 World Cup victory with a grand parade. Led by captain Rohit Sharma, the team arrived in Mumbai amidst cheers and applause, marking their historic win against South Africa in the final at Kensington Oval.

The celebration, delayed by two hours, kicked off from the National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) in Nariman Point, with Rohit Sharma proudly displaying the coveted T20 World Cup trophy. Traffic came to a halt as fans lined the streets to catch a glimpse of their cricketing heroes.

After a brief stay in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl, the team received a warm welcome upon landing in New Delhi, where they were hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for breakfast. The festivities continued as the squad made their way to Mumbai for the victory parade and a subsequent felicitation ceremony at Wankhede Stadium.

Reflecting on the triumph, Rohit Sharma expressed his disbelief at the achievement, describing it as surreal and a dream come true. Under his captaincy, India made history by winning all their matches in the T20 World Cup campaign, setting a new milestone in men’s cricket.

As the nation revels in this momentous victory, the Indian cricket team remains a source of pride and inspiration, embodying excellence on the international stage.
