Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) has done the unthinkable, and after 18 years of wait, the franchise won its first IPL title. In a close finish against the Punjab Kings, the RCB team remained calm and defended 191 runs thanks to some outstanding bowling with senior statesman Virat Kohli playing a pivotal role in guiding the team with his experience and intensity.
Virat Kohli gets emotional with Anushka
Even with a late charge from Shashank Singh, Punjab Kings managed to fall short as RCB won the title which had evaded them ever since the league began. Post-match, Virat Kohli couldn’t hold back tears as he donated his blood, sweat and loyalty towards the franchise.
He hugged his close buddy, AB De Villiers, warmly, and then the time came when Virat Kohli ran to hug his wife, Anushka Sharma, warmly. The RCB legend had tears in his eyes when Anushka comforted him after what he had done. It was a sentimental moment for Kohli because after trolling him for 18 years, the franchise won the league.
Everyone is looking at him and he’s just looking at her embracing his world in his arms🥹🧿❤️#ViratKohli #anushkasharma #virushka pic.twitter.com/aeuRptxE35

In another gesture even more endearing, Virat Kohli kissed Anushka on the forehead following the warm hug a tender moment that would never be forgotten, one which encapsulated all the years of work, scrutiny, and faith so beautifully.
RCB bowlers win it all for them
190 on a spongy pitch at the Narendra Modi Stadium was never going to be easy to defend, however, the RCB bowlers strangled the Punjab batsmen during the power-play. Then came in Krunal Pandya who turned the tables and ended with figures of 2/17 in 4 overs.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood then shut the scoring as PBKS had too much to target in the final 5 overs and they lost the match by 6 runs. RCB have now joined SRH, GT and RR as the side with a single IPL trophy.
This winning of the title is a historical day for RCB and its supporters a day when loyalty, perseverance, and trust at last bore fruit.
