Team India Shows Off Battle-Ready Look Ahead of ICC Champions Trophy 2025

Team India revealed headshots of their players in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy in Dubai on Monday. The official Instagram account showcased key players like Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, and Mohammad Shami, all looking ready for the competition.

India Kicks Off Champions Trophy Campaign in Dubai

Team India has arrived in Dubai and started their training session on Monday. Their first match is against Bangladesh on February 19. Afterward, they will face Pakistan on February 23 and New Zealand on March 2. According to the hybrid model, all of India’s matches will take place in Dubai, not Pakistan.

Injury and Squad Changes

Unfortunately, Jasprit Bumrah will miss the tournament due to a lower back injury. He has not played since January, with his last appearance being in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia in Sydney. After bowling 10.1 overs, Bumrah experienced discomfort and was advised by doctors not to continue. As a result, Harshit Rana, a young pacer, has been called up as his replacement.

Additionally, Varun Chakravarthy has been included in the squad after his strong performance in the T20Is against England.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Dropped from Main Squad

Yashasvi Jaiswal, who was initially named in the main squad, has been moved to the non-traveling reserves. This decision follows his ODI debut against England, where he scored just 15 runs from 22 balls. Following this, he was replaced in the playing XI by Virat Kohli. Moreover, Varun Chakravarthy debuted in the second ODI, taking 1/54 in his 10 overs.

India’s Squad for the ICC Champions Trophy

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill (Vice-captain), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (WK), Rishabh Pant (WK), Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Mohd. Shami, Arshdeep Singh, Ravindra Jadeja, Varun Chakaravarthy.

Non Travelling substitutes: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj and Shivam Dube. These players will travel to Dubai if needed.
