T20 World Cup Champions : Captain Rohit Sharma Dances in Celebratory Mood Outside Hotel in New Delhi

Rohit Sharma, captain of the Indian cricket team, immersed himself in the celebratory vibe in New Delhi, dancing to the beat of dhol outside the team hotel. Rohit spearheaded the festivities, acknowledging the adoration from fans in the capital city following the return of the T20 World Cup champions from Barbados.

The chartered flight carrying Team India touched down in New Delhi on Thursday morning. Rohit Sharma, along with teammates like Rahul Dravid, support staff, BCCI officials, and members of the Indian media, journeyed from Barbados aboard the specially arranged plane.

Suryakumar Yadav showcased his dancing prowess as the upbeat Bhangra rhythms added to the celebratory atmosphere. Suryakumar wholeheartedly joined in the dance on a rainy morning in the city, while local hero Rishabh Pant also joined in, cheered on by fans who shared in the team’s joy.

Outside the airport’s Terminal 3 in the capital city, Rohit Sharma proudly paraded the World Cup trophy, displaying it to the assembled fans.

Fans gathered outside the airport to greet the Indian players. Captain Rohit Sharma led the team out of the airport, proudly carrying the trophy. The chants of “Virat Kohli, Virat Kohli” reverberated loudly, and the former captain acknowledged the fans’ affection with a wave.

Captain Rohit Sharma was later seen entering the team hotel accompanied by his wife Ritika and daughter Samaira. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli met with his sister and posed with the World Cup medal upon arriving at the hotel. The ITC Maurya in New Delhi had prepared a special cake to celebrate Team India’s victory.

Head coach Rahul Dravid appeared content as he disembarked from the team bus and made his way into the hotel. BCCI secretary Jay Shah was also present with the team at the hotel.

Team India’s Celebration Plans for Thursday

  • The team will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his office in New Delhi after 9:30 am IST.
  • Following the meeting with PM Modi, the team will board a chartered plane bound for Mumbai.
  • In Mumbai, the team will partake in an open-top bus parade along Marine Drive.
  • Later in the evening, the team will be honored at the Wankhede Stadium.
  • A brief presentation at the Wankhede will see Rohit Sharma handing over the World Cup trophy to BCCI secretary Jay Shah.

It is anticipated that the team will receive a prize of Rs 125 crore during the felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium, presided over by Jay Shah. Captain Rohit Sharma has invited fans to join in the celebrations at Marine Drive on Thursday.
