T20 World Cup: ‘Bumrah ki kala’ Former Cricketer Praises India’s Pace Spearhead Bumrah

India kicked off their Super Eights campaign in the T20 World Cup with a resounding 47-run victory over Afghanistan, propelled by a stellar performance from Jasprit Bumrah. Chasing a target of 182, Afghanistan faltered and were bowled out for 134, largely due to Bumrah’s exceptional bowling figures of 3 wickets for just 7 runs in his four-over spell.

Former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif lauded Bumrah’s match-winning performance, highlighting his ability to adapt to various conditions. “Bumrah ke paas aisi kala hai (Bumrah has the art) of bowling according to the conditions,” Kaif remarked, noting Bumrah’s crucial wickets with variations in pace and skillful execution on a slow-paced Barbados pitch.

Kaif pointed out Bumrah’s pivotal role throughout the tournament, recalling his impactful spells against Pakistan and now against Afghanistan. “His deliveries hit the deck in seaming conditions and were equally effective on slower tracks,” Kaif added, emphasizing Bumrah’s versatility and match-winning capabilities.

India’s innings saw a dynamic start with Suryakumar Yadav’s explosive 53 off 28 balls, setting the stage for a competitive total of 181/8 in 20 overs after opting to bat first. Arshdeep Singh supported Bumrah’s efforts with figures of 3-36, while spinners Kuldeep Yadav (2-32) and Axar Patel (1-15) contributed crucial breakthroughs.

With this victory, India maintains a strong position in the T20 World Cup Super Eights, bolstered by Bumrah’s exceptional form and the team’s all-round performance. As the tournament progresses, all eyes remain on Bumrah as India aims for further success under his impactful bowling.

The T20 World Cup action continues to intensify as teams vie for supremacy in the Super Eights stage, promising more thrilling encounters and standout performances in the days ahead.
