T20 world Cup 2024: India vs Pakistan Match “Hold Your Breath…This is Not a Fight”, Says Hardik Pandya

Team India’s star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya, is eagerly anticipating the upcoming T20 World Cup India vs Pakistan match. Emphasizing that he doesn’t view it as a “fight” but rather as an exhilarating challenge, Pandya is ready to replicate his past successes under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in the high-stakes encounter scheduled for Sunday.

India commenced their T20 World Cup campaign on a high note earlier this week, dominating Ireland with an 8-wicket victory in a one-sided match held in New York. Conversely, Pakistan suffered a surprising upset, losing to hosts United States in a Super Over thriller on Thursday.

In his six T20Is against Pakistan, Hardik’s batting contributions have been modest, amassing 84 runs with a top score of 40. However, he has been exceptional with the ball, taking 11 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 7.5, including a standout performance of 3/8. His all-round skills will be pivotal as India aims for victory in this crucial match.

“Playing in big games is always thrilling for me. It feels extra special, and Pakistan has been one team where I’ve been fortunate enough to perform well in many matches,” Hardik told ‘Star Sports’.

He added, “It’s all about the vibe. Hold your breath, this is a request. This is not a fight, this is going to be history. The India-Pakistan game has always been filled with excitement, emotion, and a lot of buzz. But at the same time, we need to stay disciplined and focused on our goal as a team, which is to go out there and perform our best. If we can do that, it will be another great day for us.”

India vs Pakistan Match

Team India will aim to secure their second consecutive win when they face a demoralized Pakistan side. Babar Azam’s team is under immense pressure following their shock defeat to the USA in their opening match in Dallas. After both teams ended with a score of 159, the United States clinched a thrilling victory in the Super Over, dealing a significant blow to Pakistan’s hopes of progressing to the Super 8s.
