Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma and his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, have shared the name of their newborn son, Ahaan, via Instagram. On December 1, Ritika posted a heartfelt story featuring four dolls, each representing the family members: Rohit, Ritika, their daughter Samaira, and their newborn son, Ahaan.
This touching announcement delighted fans as they celebrated the couple’s joy. Ahaan was born on November 15, and the couple also has a daughter, Samaira, born on December 30, 2018.
Rohit, who had taken paternity leave to be with his family, missed the first Test against Australia in Perth. However, the Indian team excelled in his absence, with Jasprit Bumrah leading brilliantly as stand-in captain. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered stellar performances as top-order batters, contributing significantly to the team’s dominance.
Rohit has since rejoined the team and captained India in the ongoing two-day pink-ball warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.
Despite missing their regular captain, Team India secured a resounding 295-run victory in the Perth Test. After a shaky first innings, where they were bowled out for 150, the bowlers, led by Bumrah, dismantled Australia’s top-order, leaving them at 67-7 at stumps. Building on a 46-run lead, India set a massive 534-run target in the second innings.
While Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh offered resistance with scores of 89 and 47, respectively, Australia ultimately succumbed, marking their first Test defeat at Perth.
With Rohit back in action and the team in top form, India looks poised to continue their strong performance in the series.
