The IPL game between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala was abandoned halfway through on Thursday. Only 10.1 overs were bowled. It was said that the match was abandoned because of a power failure. The outage reportedly resulted from a major technical breakdown in the region. A video has emerged online. Actor and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta was seen requesting the crowd to leave the stadium.

In the video, Preity can be seen requesting the crowd to exit the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium. This occurred after the match was called off. She was seen in a white t-shirt and jeans asking people to leave the premises.

As per reports on Friday,  the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals match was abandoned in the middle following air raid warnings in neighboring cities of Pathankot and Jammu. Players and the game’s officials and the broadcasting team have been safely relocated to Delhi by train.

At the same time, it was reported that Indian Premier League has been suspended due to the prevailing border tensions between India and Pakistan with immediate effect for a week.

“Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders,” BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said in a statement.
