While engaging in a wholesome and delightful interaction around team India’s experiences and what challenges they faced in T20 world cup tournament, PM Modi posed a funny question to Rohit Sharma, which left rest of the teammates in splits.
During the discussion, PM Modi humorously questioned Rohit Sharma about the dance he did, when he came to collect the trophy.
Talking about the dance, PM Modi queried, ‘Every countryman must have noticed it but Rohit I have seen two extreme things. The emotions could be seen this time and the way you shook your legs when you went to take the trophy.’
In Response Rohit Sharma said, ‘Sir, this was a day we had been waiting for a long time, so I was told by my teammates don’t go for a simple walk, do something different when you go to lift the trophy.’
In addition, when PM Modi queried, that was it Chahal’s idea? Sharma said, it was both Kuldeep and Chahal’s idea.
Later, the Indian captain emotionally remembered the final match and said,
‘I wanted to remember the occasion where we got that elusive victory and wanted to taste that soil because we won the trophy by playing on that pitch. We all waited for a long long time and worked really hard to win the World Cup…We came close to winning the World Cup last year but we failed to cross the final hurdle…. But this time, the hard work of the entire team finally paid off and could achieve the victory. That pitch holds significance because we played on it and I wanted to do something and it spontaneously happened at that time.’
