PM Modi congratulates Indian shooters for winning silver medal at Asian Games

The Indian women’s 10m Air Pistol team won a silver medal in the team event at the 19th Asian Games, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his congratulations to them on Friday.

In the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Pistol team final at the on-going Asian Games on Friday, the Indian shooting trio of Esha Singh, Palak, and Divya Subbaraju earned a silver medal, continuing the nation’s unstoppable shooting streak.

In addition to wishing the women’s team luck in their future endeavors, PM Modi stated that the silver medalists’ accomplishment at the Asian Games would inspire a number of aspiring “sportspersons.”

India earned silver with a total of 1731 points, only five points short of China’s victory in the gold medal round (1736 points). Chinese Taipei received 1723 points, good for bronze. The men’s 3P team that won the gold medal was also given praise by the prime minister for their outstanding performance.

The Prime Minister wrote on X, “They have demonstrated outstanding tenacity and teamwork.

In the meantime, Palak received congratulations from Anurag Thakur, the minister of sports, for winning the gold medal in the 10-meter air pistol individual competition.

So far in this multi-sports event India have won 17 medals in shooting at the Hangzhou meet, their best-ever performance at the continental meet in this discipline.
