Mumbai Indians’s Tilak Varma, Dewald Brevis sweat it out in nets ahead of IPL 2024

During net practice at the Wankhade Stadium ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Mumbai Indians (MI) youngsters Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis showcased their powerful batting skills. A snippet of their aggressive style during the practice session was shared by the Mumbai-based franchise on their official social media platform.

In November last year, Pandya returned to his former franchise, Mumbai Indians, from Gujarat Titans (GT) as part of a trade agreement between the two teams. The talented all-rounder had spent two successful years with GT, playing a pivotal role in their IPL campaigns. Pandya’s stint with GT began on a high note in the 2022 debut season, where he led the team to victory, clinching the prestigious trophy.

The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to commence on March 22, with defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) facing Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in a highly anticipated encounter at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

A thrilling showdown is expected on March 24 as last year’s runners-up, Gujarat Titans, take on the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians, in Ahmedabad. The fixture has garnered significant attention due to star all-rounder Pandya’s return to his former franchise MI after an impressive stint with GT. Shubman Gill has assumed the captaincy role for GT.

MI’s squad for IPL 2024 includes renowned players such as Rohit Sharma, Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, N. Tilak Varma, and others. Hardik Pandya will lead the team, aiming for another successful campaign in the upcoming season.
