MUMBAI INDIANS and CSK to face-off in a high voltage clash

Two of the most successful franchises of the Indian Premier League – Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings will face each other on 6 May at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Notably, both teams are currently in the race to qualify for the IPL playoffs and thus, the high-voltage clash will see added drama and neither team can afford to lose points at the moment.
When it comes to Super Kings, their last match against Lucknow Super Giants ended on level terms after rain played spoilsport. Coming to the individual performances, opener Devon Conway is in remarkable touch and so is Ajinkya Rahane, who’s batting at a strike rate of 189.83 in the ongoing IPL 2023. Conway meanwhile has amassed 414 runs in ten matches so far and with that, he is currently third in the race for the IPL Orange Cap.
Maheesh Theekshana and Matheesha Pathirana meanwhile have done a spectacular job with the ball so far. Pacer Deepak Chahar has also made his comeback but wasn’t very effective on his return against LSG. On the other hand, Tushar Deshpande is one of the leading wicket-takers in the tournament but he is also leaking a lot of runs. Thus, MS Dhoni will have to manage things well ahead of the business end of the tournament.
When it comes to Mumbai, they were struggling in the initial matches but made an emphatic return, winning their last two matches against Rajasthan and Punjab. The good news for them is the return to form of Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav. However, Rohit Sharma’s struggle is a massive concern. Tim David is also chipping in well and thus, the batting unit is in a good space at the moment.
However, the same cannot be said for the bowlers, who are leaking a lot of runs at the moment. Jofra Archer has looked pale while Piyush Chawla has only proved to be good so far.
