Seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher has been out of the public eye for more than a decade, since his life-changing skiing accident in December 2013. A recent update by journalist Felix Gorner reveals the extent of his current medical issues.

Schumacher had a traumatic brain injury after falling while skiing in the French Alps and was placed in a medically induced coma. Months later, he was transferred to his home in Lake Geneva, Switzerland, where he still receives 24/7 medical attention.

His family has been extremely vigilant about his privacy and has given limited updates on his health throughout the years.

Journalist Provides Rare Insight

Felix Gorner, a reporter for German broadcaster RTL, recently gave an update on the condition of Schumacher. “The situation is very sad,” Gorner reported. “Michael Schumacher can no longer speak.”

His comments reflect the seriousness of the F1 legend’s condition and the Schumacher family’s dedication to discretion.

Privacy and Security Concerns

Schumacher’s condition has prompted severe privacy protocols, with access for only about 20 people, including family and close caregivers. His private life is protected by his family from the media while he is given the top medical care.

Despite this, Schumacher’s family has been threatened by security. Perhaps the most chilling was a former security guard named Markus F., who tried to blackmail them.

With two accomplices, he hacked into Schumacher’s medical records and stole 900 photos, 600 videos, and 900 medical records of his treatment. The hackers asked for a ransom of £12 million (€15 million) and threatened to post the stolen files on the internet. Authorities moved quickly, and the publication of private content was prevented. Markus was later convicted.

Schumacher’s family enhanced security following this incident to prevent any future occurrence.

Despite no official reports, fans and the world of motorsport still celebrate Schumacher’s success. His Formula One legacy remains unmatched, and his records remain an inspiration for generations of drivers.

Speculation about his status persists, but his contribution to the sport cannot be denied, making him one of F1’s greatest champions ever.
