SA20 League Commissioner Graeme Smith announced on Friday that the third season of South Africa’s premier T20 competition will be held from January 9 to February 8, 2025. The reigning champions, Sunrisers Eastern Cape, are eyeing a third consecutive title and are actively planning to attract top T20 players for the upcoming event.
“Following two successful seasons, our aim is to continue dominating the South African summer and offer fans an opportunity to witness some of the biggest names in world cricket, both in stadiums and through global broadcasts. We are currently working on our fixtures, auction, and player announcements, and the planning process is well underway. We are excited to present another thrilling sports and entertainment extravaganza for players and fans,” said Smith.
With intense cricketing action, as seen in Season 2 where the log standings were determined only after the final group match, a surge in attendance, increased global and local viewership, growing digital engagement, extensive media coverage, and player satisfaction ratings exceeding 95% for ‘enjoyment,’ SA20 has firmly established itself as one of the top franchise T20 leagues globally.
