LSG Crash Out as Sam Curran Lookalike Joins SRH Fans in Mocking Rathi

Lucknow Super Giants spinner Digvesh Rathi is known for his fiery celebrations. Eventually, one of them led to a confrontation. This happened in the eighth over of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s chase. Rathi dismissed the dangerous Abhishek Sharma, who had already smashed 59 runs off just 20 balls. The opener hit a shot that landed in the hands of a boundary fielder.

Immediately after the wicket, Rathi celebrated in his usual intense style. However, Abhishek didn’t take it well. Both players exchanged a few words on the field. Although things didn’t escalate, the moment showed clear tension, especially with SRH comfortably positioned in the chase.

Notebook Celebration Mocked by Fans

Rathi’s celebration—where he pretends to sign a notebook after taking a wicket—came back to haunt him later in the match. In his final over, Sri Lankan batter Kamindu Mendis hit him for three consecutive boundaries. The crowd, especially SRH fans, saw this as a perfect moment to respond.

Among them was Australian YouTuber Jake Jeakings. Known for his striking resemblance to English cricketer Sam Curran, Jeakings joined in on the mockery. He mimicked Rathi’s notebook-signing gesture from the stands, creating a viral moment. Throughout IPL 2025, Jeakings has been spotted supporting different teams. This time, he cheered for SRH at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium while copying the celebration.

SRH Takes Control and Wins with Ease

Despite Rathi’s early success, his final over turned the game in SRH’s favor. He had bowled well, also removing Ishan Kishan earlier. But those costly deliveries gave SRH the upper hand. Abhishek’s aggressive start and steady middle-over scoring helped SRH chase the target of 206 easily. They finished the match with 10 balls remaining.

Tense Moment Ends on a Positive Note

After the match, the heated exchange between Rathi and Abhishek seemed forgotten. Both players smiled and showed good sportsmanship. Abhishek clarified the situation by saying, “I spoke to him after the game, and it is all good now.”

Rathi Shines in Tough Season for LSG

Rathi has been Lucknow’s most consistent bowler this season. He has taken 14 wickets in 12 matches. However, his efforts were not enough in this must-win game. The loss eliminated LSG from the tournament and ended their playoff hopes.
