After securing victory in the T20 World Cup this June, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are gearing up to represent India again in the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. Both players had taken a break following the T20 World Cup and had also retired from T20 International (T20I) cricket.
Currently in Sri Lanka for the ODI series, Kohli and Sharma participated in a recent practice session. During this session, Kohli noticed a young fan holding a photo featuring himself and Rohit Sharma with the T20 World Cup trophy and the Indian flag. Kohli approached the fan, signed an autograph, and posed for a photo. Rohit Sharma also joined in, repeating Kohli’s gestures.
Kohli and Sharma are returning to ODI cricket after a significant absence. Rohit Sharma last played in an ODI during the World Cup final last year, where India was defeated by Australia. Despite the loss, Sharma was the second-highest run-scorer of the tournament with 597 runs from 11 innings, averaging 54.27 and maintaining a strike rate of 125.94.
