India will host West Indies for a two-Test series in October, the Caribbean side’s first Test tour of India in 12 years. The series will open with the first Test in Mohali on October 2 and the second Test at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, on October 10.

The last Test series that the West Indies played in India was during their 2013-14 tour. It was also the final series for the cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. West Indies last toured India in 2022 for a limited-overs series of three ODIs and three T20Is.

BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla told PTI that the tour details were confirmed, and the iconic series will have India and West Indies face off in the longer format after over a decade.

South Africa’s Multi-Format Tour in November

After the West Indies series, South Africa will travel to India for an all-format series in November. This tour will be important as a build-up series for the 2026 T20 World Cup, which is to be staged in India.

Shukla announced the locations and dates for the South Africa series, as follows:

“The first Test will be in Delhi, while the second Test will be in Guwahati.”

This will be Guwahati’s maiden Test match, a city that has primarily hosted white-ball matches and IPL games in recent years.
