England pacer Jofra Archer ruled out of Ashes series

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) ruled Jofra Archer out of the upcoming Ashes series starting from 16 June during the squad announcement for England’s one-off Test against Ireland as per ICC.

Archer, the talented fast bowler, faces mounting frustrations as he has been ruled out for the remainder of the summer, effectively sidelining him from the prestigious Ashes tournament.

The decision was made due to a recurring stress fracture in his right elbow, which resurfaced in recent scans. This injury had forced him to cut short his stint with the Mumbai Indians in the ongoing Indian Premier League.

The official statement from the ECB confirms that Archer will now commence a period of rehabilitation under the guidance of the medical teams from both England and Sussex. They will focus on managing his injury and ensuring his recovery.

The ECB had previously issued a statement when Archer was released by the Mumbai Indians for the rest of the IPL season. It revealed that the 28-year-old cricketer had been persevering through discomfort while playing, but unfortunately, he could not continue his participation in the league.
