The Dream Sports Championship (DSC) U15 Table Tennis Championship has reached its thrilling knockout stage, with a fierce fight among India’s teenage table tennis wunderkinder in the offing. The adrenaline-fueled matches on Friday and Saturday will not only determine the champions but also provide young players with a chance to gain world-class training.

Quarter-Final Clashes Set the Tone

Friday heats up with quarter-final action, and the competition gets fiercer. In the girls’ division, Arya Redkar is pitted against Tanishka Kalbhairav at 4:00 PM, then Shreya Dhar vs. Myraa Sangelkar at 4:30 PM. For the boys, Trishal Raj Kumar of India will be up against Thailand’s Kantanut Petsunthad at 5:00 PM, then Sweden’s Albin Ingestrom vs. India’s Atharva Nawarange at 5:30 PM.

Semi-Finals and Finals Promise High-Octane Action

Friday’s winners will qualify for the semi-finals on Saturday. The 11:00 AM first girls’ semi-final will pit the Redkar/Kalbhairav winner against top seed Divyanshi Bhowmick. The second one at 11:30 AM will pit the Dhar/Sangelkar winner against Ananya Muralidharan.

The semi-finals of the boys start at midday, with the winner of the Raj Kumar/Petsunthad meeting Sahil Rawat. The second semi-final is between the Ingestrom/Nawarange winner and Ritvik Gupta. The grand finale of the tournament is on Saturday evening, with the boys’ championship match at 6:00 PM, to be followed by the girls’ final.

Training and Mentorship Enhance the Tournament

Before Friday’s competitive play, players got a rare chance to meet table tennis great Sharath Kamal in a special session. This was followed by a sports science workshop by fitness guru Dheeraj to improve their physical and mental conditioning.

Players knocked out in the previous rounds also had a closed-door training session with experienced German coach Chris Pfeiffer, who is associated with Sharath Kamal’s academy.

Olympian Sreeja Akula to Inspire Finalists

Prior to the championship finals, DSC Foundation player and Olympic athlete Sreeja Akula will conduct an exclusive Q&A session, giving insights into her international table tennis experience.
