The Delhi Capitals are prepared to bolster their team for Saturday’s Women’s Premier League 2024 auction, which is scheduled to take place in Mumbai. The Delhi-based team needs to add three players to round out their WPL roster, as they currently have 15 players on reserve. Prior to the auction, it has Rs 2.25 crore left in its purse.
Speaking ahead of the Auction, Delhi Capitals’ Head Coach Jonathan Batty said, “We want to improve the depth of the squad. We did really well in last year’s Auction and constructed a good 18-player squad. We’ll just look to make our current squad slightly better in the upcoming Auction. The coaching group has had a few discussions on the team we want to have and we are excited to go into the Auction.”
Additionally, Batty stated that the Women’s Premier League has established a benchmark for all other women’s competitions worldwide: “The latest Women’s Premier League saw extremely high caliber cricket played. The competition included the world’s top players. There were some excellent matches and results. This competition serves as the standard for all other women’s competitions worldwide.”
